Sometimes the level of care dictates that a residential care home is the best way forward to ensuring the right care can be available 24-7

There are many benefits to be had from residential care. Whilst your independence is perhaps more limited compared to remaining in your home, the addition of fulltime care, community surroundings and peace of mind can be fulfilling.

In a care home you have your own private bedroom, often with en suite facilities. There are also shared facilities such as lounges, tv rooms and dining rooms, encouraging integration with other residents.  Qualified care staff are on hand 24-7 to assist residents, making their day to day life as comfortable as possible.

In well run homes your independence is not compromised, your freedom to get up, go to bed, eat in your room or with other residents is left to your own discretion.

Every aspect of care homes is highly regulated by the Care Quality Commission in England, The Care Inspectorate for Wales and Social Care and Social Work improvement in Scotland. Every care home is registered (or licensed) by the regulators for specific types of care and these are listed on the Care Search pages, as well as the regulators report.
